Why SEQR.ONLINE – Certain. Safe. Online.
QR codes are everywhere: on storefronts, in campaigns, on packaging, at events, and on devices. But whoever scans a code actually knows nothing in advance.
Does the code lead to the right destination? Is the organisation behind it genuine? And is the website you land on safe?
That lack of clarity becomes especially relevant when a QR code leads to a payment, download, or sign-up. Think of a charging station, where a scan grants access to a payment environment, or a QR code in a public space that provides information about a building, a location, or a service. A QR code can also easily be replaced by another: at the moment of scanning, it isn't visible whether the code still leads to the intended organisation — or whether the destination is safe.
People often scan without thinking twice, and that's what bad actors take advantage of. At the same time, organisations that use their QR codes carefully have hardly any way to show the outside world that a code genuinely comes from them. SEQR.ONLINE changes that.
Before you click through, two things are checked: Certain — the organisation behind the QR code is genuine and validated. Safe — the destination is technically sound, with a valid security certificate, no suspicious redirects, and genuinely reachable.
The scanner is shown this information before the destination opens: who the code comes from, where it leads, and what the expected safety is. That way, scanning stops being a gamble and becomes an informed choice.
